Opening:
1. In your journal, transfer all the changes you listed for #1 and #2 on page 6.
2. In your small group, share a few changes that you thought of.
- Add to your list if something else occurs to you today that didn't earlier
3. Share a few examples from each list…1-4 on page 6.
4. Add to your Working Folder any images, words, phrases or CHANGES that you thought of for Activity 1.2

8. Add all 6th graders names to a list in your Journal.
- make a list of words after your name that others use to describe you (good and bad)
- choose words that describe your personality
9. "Who's Who" by Judith Viorst - page 10
- 1st Reading: Mark the Text (Highlight words you like, found interesting or had questions about)
- 2nd Reading: CHORAL READING - chime in when I get to a word or phrase that you previously highlighted
- Read in Pairs: CIRCLE all the words that describe the students named in the poem.
10. Copy down the definition of "Alliteration" into your journal in the upper right hand corner (in a box)
11. What descriptive words are alliterative with kids names in 6th grade? Add descriptive words to your list of 6th graders (you need to have at least 11 kids with descriptive words - try to have at least 6 alliterative)
- Example of alliteration #1: Paula is the Prettiest - the whole sixth grade agrees
- Example #2: Lisa is the best Listener - she always lends an ear
12. What is the rhyming pattern, or rhyme scheme, in the poem "Who's Who"?
- Mark the text on page 10 (see the instructions on page 11 if you are confused)
