Opening:
1. Examine your "Who's Who" poem

  • Does your format look like the one I project?
  • Did you use alliteration?
  • Did you achieve a rhyme scheme?
2. Find a partner from another group and Share 

3. Let's share some aloud.

4. In your Journal, complete the Quickwrite at the bottom of page 11.


Work Period:
5. Define the following to your neighbor:

  • setting
  • characterization
  • conflict
  • resolution
  • dialogue
  • first person point of view
  • narrative (see Signal Box on page 12)


6. In your small group, Jigsaw a scene from The Lion King

  1. setting
  2. character feelings
  3. dialogue

7. After the first viewing, seek out those who also focused on your puzzle piece (setting, feelings, dialogue)

8. Refine your notes

9. Take your notes back to your group and share the details you have.  

  • Everyone should have a complete graphic organizer on page 12.

Closing:
10.  What's the sequence of events?  Answer #2 on page 13.
