Opening:

1. Review your vocabulary from pages 102-103
  • What synonyms did the dictionary and/or thesaurus provide?
  • What unfamiliar words are now more familiar?
  • Which unfamiliar words did you use in your summary of Anne's morning at Green Gables?
2. Share aloud some strong summaries.

3. Which words should we add to our Word Wall?

Work Period:

4. Choose one strong visual description from the text and sketch it on the top of page 104.
  • What details help you visualize the scene?
  • Accurately use color to enhance the image
 5. Complete #2 and #3 on page 104 when you are done with the drawing.

6. What made the farm easy to visualize?

7. Imagine a familiar place (to you, but maybe not everyone else) on Bonham's campus.  Fill in the graphic organizer on page 105 to the best of your ability.

Closing:
8. Spend the last 10 minutes of class in the place you described.  On a separate sheet of paper, fill in any details that your imagination didn't already fill in.

Tomorrow:
You will complete #2 on page 105 by writing a few paragraphs providing complete detail about the spot you located, then sharing it with a partner or two, to see if they know the spot you are describing.
