Opening:
1. Turn in Reading Log #15  

Work Period:
4. Working in your small groups, revisit your previous work:

  • Activity 1.2
  • Journal Quickwrites about how your are different now
  • Memory Map
  • Quickwrite about an incident with a family member


5. Make a list in your journal:

  • What specific incidents in your life have brought about a significant change?
6. Share your list in your small group and determine which incident meets the following criteria:
  • is interesting to a reader
  • has a clear beginning, middle and end
  • had an effect on you in a significant way



Closing:

7. In your Journal, Create a Mini-Memory Map.  

  • Review the Sequence of Events
  • Consider Who was involved in the incident, characterize them
    • actions
    • appearance
    • what they say
    • what others say about them
  • Describe Where it took place, using sensory details
  • Describe what happened and what you were thinking and feeling while it happened
  • Write down what was said.
  • Why did the incident occur?  
  • How did it change you?
