Opening:
1. Final Grades...and a SMART goal in your class notebook.

Work Period:
2. Unit 3: Changes in Self-Perception begins on page 193.

  • Review the Contents on page 194-195.
    • What did you "notice" last Thursday?
    • Create a QHT chart at the bottom of page 195 for the Academic Vocabulary.
      • Discuss these vocabulary words in your small groups to determine if any Q's can become H's through discussion.
  • Read the Learning Focus on page 196 and mark the text.
    • Make sure you have completed the first three questions on page 197.
  • Find the Embedded Assessment on pages 251-258.  
    • Skim the project and the summarize it at the bottom of page 197.
    • What belongs on our Anchor Chart?
3. Voluntary vs. Involuntary
  • Try to fill in the graphic organizer with voluntary and involuntary changes you have made (use your class notebook to return to changes that you've undergone)
4. Complete the quickwrite on a NEW piece of notebook paper - the side after the SMART goal

5. Looping...see the model on page 198.



Closing:
6. Read through the information about Parallel Structure on page 199.  

  • After reading through and understanding the information, try completing #1 on 199.
