Article of the Week:
1. I will check to see if your work is complete.
2. If so, I will move you to a group and you should discuss the questions members of the group have.
3. If not, sit for 10 minutes and quietly finish your work for the AoW.

Learning Objectives:
I can…

  • use details, reflections, and dialogue to add depth to a narrative
  • create a sequence of events about an incident

Opening:
1. Show your work to those in your group and discuss your plan for completing this project.

2. As a writer, describe what you think you are showing with your Project.  Consider the following:
  • Ideas/Depth of Ideas
  • Organization/Progression of Ideas
  • Conventions and Use of Language

Work Period:
3. Work to finish your Memory Map
Include:
  • A drawing for each panel
  • A sentence or two that details the event.
  • A sentence of commentary that shares thoughts and feelings on the event.
  • A sentence or two of dialogue (with dialogue tags!) for the scene.
  • A title that will intrigue your reader and represent the narrative.

4. If time allows, turn in your project, then I'll pair you with someone so that you can share your Memory Map.

Closing:

5. Over the holiday break - you have Extra Credit Independent Reading.

  • If you are behind on your total number of books, go to the library or take a few books from our Book Share, then catch up!
  • 14-21 "Notes on Reading" entries due when you return.
